Trend Analysis of Rainfall Patterns in Rajnandgaon District, Chhattisgarh, India

Climate is a crucial determinant of an area's vegetation, wildlife, and livability, influenced by long-term atmospheric characteristics fluctuations. Precipitation, particularly rainfall, plays vital role in the Earth's hydrological cycle, connecting weather, climate, water resources. This study focuses on Rajnandgaon district Chhattisgarh, India, with average annual precipitation 1274mm. Analyzing trends, we identify changes certain properties over time. The findings indicate that rainfall variability, measured coefficient variation, lowest during June to September (CV < 76%). Monsoon displays least variability 30.88%), while pre-monsoon winter exhibit higher 33.83% 208.48%, respectively). analysis also reveals significant decreasing trend annual, monsoon, rainfall. However, May shows increase at 5% level significance. utilizes non-parametric Mann-Kendall Sen's Slope Estimator tests, employing monthly data from 1988 2018 for district, Chhattisgarh.
